What's the difference between free and hug+?
Everyone can send hugs for free — up to 3 a month. hug+ raises that to 50 hugs a month and unlocks recurring scheduled hugs, check-ins when a hug hasn't been opened, and your full hug history. It's $6.99/month or $69.99/year (about $5.83/month).
How do I cancel?
Open My hugs → Account → Plan → Manage subscription. That opens your secure billing portal, where you can cancel in a couple of taps. You'll keep hug+ until the end of the period you've already paid for — we never cut access off mid-cycle.
When does my plan renew?
hug+ renews automatically — monthly plans on the same date each month, yearly plans on the same date each year — using the card on file. You'll always have access right up to the renewal date, and we email a receipt each time.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes, any time — open Manage subscription and change your plan there. Moving up to yearly takes effect right away, and you're only charged the prorated difference for the time left in your current month. Moving from yearly back to monthly takes effect when your current year ends — you keep every day you've already paid for, and the monthly rate simply starts from there. Either way, your history and any schedules come along unchanged.
What happens when my plan ends?
You simply return to the free tier — 3 hugs a month. Nothing is deleted: your hug history stays intact, and you can revisit everything you've sent. Any recurring schedules pause rather than disappear, so they're ready if you come back to hug+ later.
I have referral credits — how are they used?
Every friend you refer who joins hug+ earns you $5 in credit. Credits apply automatically the next time you're billed: they come off your first invoice at checkout, and any leftover carries over to reduce future renewals until it's used up. You don't need to enter a code — it just happens. You can see your balance and history under Account → Credits.
How do I update my payment method?
Open Manage subscription — you can update your card, view past invoices, and download receipts there, all in the same secure billing portal.
Is there a mobile app?
Native iOS and Android apps are on the way, with push notifications for read receipts and check-ins. Your hug+ subscription will carry over — you won't pay twice.
